Hoozels Rise to Music Competition to Be Hosted July 27th, 2023
NEKOOSA, WI: The 2nd Annual Hoozels Rise to Music Competition will be hosted on Thursday, July 27th. This year six contestants will compete for the title of Hoozels Rise to Music Champion of 2023. Hoozels at the Lakes would like to extend their appreciation to all the musicians that registered this year. Musician registration numbers resulted in a modified contest, therefore, what was an eight-week competition in 2022 will be a one-night winner take all event in 2023.
At Hoozels Rise to Music, THE FANS help determine the winner. Using the website voxvote.com, the audience, along with our celebrity guest judge, DEREK JONES, will vote for their favorite performance. The musician with the most votes at the end of the night will be crowned the 2nd Hoozels Rise to Music Champion and will receive 1,000 dollars, a radio interviews on the Civic Media radio network, studio recording time, and a year paid residency at Hoozels at the Lakes. The runner up will receive 250 dollars and a radio interview on WFHR 1320 AM & 97.5 FM. Lastly the third runner up will also receive 100 dollars as well as a radio interview on WFHR 1320 AM & 97.5 FM. The top three musician will be invited to perform the National Anthem at a Wisconsin Rapids Rafters baseball game. This year’s competition is proudly sponsored by Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa, Nekoosa Port Edwards State Bank, Rome Outdoors, and WIRI 105.5 FM.
Voting instructions will be provided during the competition. The Hoozels Rise to Music Competition partnership with Xtreme Party Bus Service LCC. Our fans can look forward to safe transportation. Details on this service such as pick up locations will be available to fans on the Hoozels Rise to Music website shortly after the fourth of July. The competition will be recorded by Wisconsin Rapids Community Media and will be available for viewing on their website, Solarus Channel 3, and Spectrum Channel 98 on the Saturday following the competition night.
This competition is designed to provide musicians with a safe space to showcase their music, gain exposure in the industry, and RISE UP in their music careers. When asked about the competition Isiah, 2022 contestant, recalled “The Hoozels Rise to Music Competition is a great place for any aspiring musician to put themselves out there in front of a warm and welcoming crowd. As an artist, it’s incredible to feel so much support for original music. By far my favorite place I played in 2022.”
