May the Course Be with You
Ahh, Lake Arrowhead.
There’s no place like Lake Arrowhead.
Some come for the fun and excitement they get from the 300-acre lake. They can’t get enough swimming, boating, or fishing. Or how about skiing, tubing, wake surfing, kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding. And so on, and so on, and so on.
Others come to just relax – in the sun or in the shade with an ice-cold lemonade.
While still others come for the golf. The best golf they’ve ever played - on some of the best courses they’ve ever had the privilege to play.
Situated amid 2,500 acres of stunning scenery and the hushed seclusion of central Wisconsin, Lake Arrowhead is a one-of-a-kind golf destination in complete harmony with its natural surroundings. You’ll see and feel the uniqueness in a single moment, but the memories will last a lifetime.
Here you’ll find two spectacular golf courses. Designed to deliver two very different experiences, and yet both bring you a million miles away from the hustle of your everyday life.
Characterized by sandy soil, majestic pines, and sturdy oaks, The Pines and The Lakes courses are at the heart of the Lake Arrowhead member-owned development. Each one features bent grass fairways and greens while sculpted bunkers, natural sand waste areas, and menacing water hazards challenge your every shot. But the large, contoured greens give even the casual golfer a sense of accomplishment as their ball tumbles to the bottom of the cup.
With this unique balance of features, it’s no doubt that The Pines and The Lakes courses are touted as two of the best in the Midwest. In fact, Golf Digest has given both 4 ½ out of 5 stars in their "Places to Play" rankings. And here’s the best part; though member owned, both courses are open to the public.
Hard to believe, isn’t it? But all are welcome. Yup, that means you!
That said, there are many reasons - and a couple of different ways - for you to become a member. Because when you do, you’ll enjoy member-only benefits like access to two heated pools, lake access with private beaches, and a state-of-the art fitness room to name a few.
Hungry? Not to worry. The Lakes Lounge is ready and waiting with a great selection of tasty sandwiches and cold beverages. So, you can grab a burger and a cold one before you tee it up on #1, as you make the turn, or after you sink your last putt.
Have a little more time? The Greenside Grille offers full menu service for lunch and dinner.
And though every day is special at Lake Arrowhead, Fridays are extra special, because if it’s Friday night in Wisconsin, chances are Wisconsinites are on their way to their favorite fish fry. But if they haven’t tried the fish fry at The Greenside Grille, then they haven’t yet had the best fish fry that Wisconsin has to offer. Couple that with their famous Bloody Mary and a beer chaser, and Fridays are easily the best day of the week.
Not so fast. Thursdays are pretty special too. Why, you ask. Because Thursdays are Tunes on the Turn days. What is Tunes on the Turn, you ask.
Well, on Thursday evenings, all summer long, some of the best local artists are showcased on The Pines’ clubhouse patio with the stunning 10th hole as a backdrop. From 5:00-8:00, you’ll hear the acoustic play of Bourbon Country. The rock, pop, and funk of The Allen Brothers. Or the unique sounds of the muti-talented Blaine Howard, again, just to name a few. Now that’s a great way to cap off what undoubtedly was a great day of golf.
Oh, you say you’re not a golfer. That’s OK. Then you’ll want to check out the newly rebuilt tennis courts and soon-to-be-completed Pickle Ball courts. Or the campgrounds, ATV trails, snowmobile, and cross-country skiing trails. Or the sports complex that includes a baseball field, archery, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and so on, and so on, and so on.
So, whether you want a weekend getaway, a summer vacation spot, or a year-round lifestyle, there’s no place like Lake Arrowhead.
