Historic Point Basse Ice Harvest
Join us in harvesting ice the old fashioned way. During the Port Edwards Lions Fisheree, we will be offering an opportunity for you to try your hand at ice harvesting. Then witness the filling of the ice house on our site. We use the ice all year for chilling our drinks and making ice cream at events.

Trivia Night Rules and Regulations
• There will be 6 trivia categories/rounds with 10 questions per category.
· Teams will be comprised of 2-8 players – more players may be allowed – staff discretion
• Each team should designate a “recorder” to write down the team's answers. (There will be an envelope with the questions and an answer sheet handed out per round).
• The Emcee will announce the topic of the category at the beginning of each round. Once the category is announced the teams will have two songs to collaborate together and turn in their answers for that round.
• Bring your answer sheet up to the announcer at the end of each round
• After each round there will be a 10 minute break. During this time please feel free to go grab a drink or some food. Make it back before the 10 minutes is up or you will be unable to participate in the next round. Answers from each team will be scored and tallied by the trivia committee during this time. The committee has the final say. Once the break is over the emcee will announce the correct answer to each question before starting the next round.
• The scores will be updated after each round and will be announced after the correct answers are announced.
• After the final round, all final scores will be tallied and prizes awarded to the teams with the 2 highest scores of the evening – we may pay out three places – under staff discretion. In the event of a tie there will be a tie breaker round comprised of 5 questions.
• BE SPECIFIC WITH YOUR ANSWERS – NO HALF POINTS FOR PARTIAL ANSWERS.

Nordic Day
Come out to the park to explore the trails for FREE. The inside trails will be marked for snowshoeing or hiking and if we have enough snow the outer trails will be groomed for cross country skiing.
Bring your kids to a “Tri-It” ski jumping session where they will learn to ski jump starting from the 5m hill with some veteran ski jumpers. We are offering 2 sessions: AM (10:30am-12pm) and PM (1pm-2:30pm). We have a limited supply of skis, helmets and boots for the youth jumpers to use and we STRONGLY encourage pre-registration. We are limiting each session to 10 jumpers and although this is a free event we suggest a $10 donation for equipment use for non-members that can be collected day of the event.

Lake Sherwood Fisheree
This fun event on January 18,2025, a DNR Free Fishing Day, provides a family friendly outdoor winter activity and will raise money for the Lake Sherwood Property Owners Association Conservation Fund.
Registration begins at the Sherwood Lodge, 1146 W. Queens Way, Nekoosa, WI (Town of Rome) at 7:30 a.m. and the event ends at 4 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m.
Registration fees are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 years of age and under.
Cash payouts are made for the largest northern, bass, walleye and largest overall fish. Children compete for trophies for panfish.

Visit Rome's Christmas Bird Count
The nation's longest-running community science bird project fuels Audubon's work throughout the year. The Christmas Bird Count occurs December 14 to January 5 every season. Rome is excited to work alongside Audubon for our 7th annual Christmas Bird Count! The count will take place Monday, December 16, 2024 from 7:00am – noon.
There is an optional in person meet up at 6:45am at the Visit Rome Visitor Center (1146 County Road D Nekoosa, WI 54457). Coffee, tea, donuts, and snacks will be available.
The count will start promptly at 7:00am and go until noon.

Cookie Decorating Class @ Up North Brewing Company
Join Kelly from Blue House Cakery for a fun class where you will get 6 cookies, icing, and all tools needed to complete an adorable set of Christmas cookies! This is a beginner level class, no prior experience needed! Kelly will walk you through step by step for each cookie. So grab a friend and join in the fun!

Class is intended for adults and children 12+. Those under 18 are required to have an adult with them, and both attendees must have a ticket. Age appropriateness is at your discretion - keeping in mind class is 2 hours of sitting.
Tickets are non-refundable. In the event you can not make it you are welcome to sell or gift your ticket to someone else, just let me know who! Or if you would like, you can still get your cookies as a do it yourself kit for home.

Blue House Cakery owner Kelly Lawler will be teaching the basics of cookie decorating, while taking you through step by step instructions of decorating an assortment of cookies! Included with class purchase is a complimentary drink as well!
Each student will be provided with everything they need to decorate, as well as a box to take your cookies home in. No previous experience is necessary. Aprons and short sleeve shirts recommended!

Heritage Hollydays @ Historic Point Basse
