Friends of James Beard Chef Invitational @ Sand Valley

The Friends of James Beard Chef Invitational at Sand Valley is a way to have a little unexpected fun while the midwestern winter melts away. We’re bringing together some of the best chefs in the midwest for a weekend-long food affair that you simply cannot experience anywhere else. While you embark on a culinary journey, participate in a little friendly competition along the way. Join us in 2025 for a special weekend of food, fun, and fundraising.

Join us for the return of Trivia Nights - select Saturday's at 4:00 pm!

Team registration begins 30 minutes before the start of the event (3:30 pm).

$20 per team (2-8 players)
6 rounds with 10 questions each

Trivia Night Rules and Regulations
• There will be 6 trivia categories/rounds with 10 questions per category.
· Teams will be comprised of 2-8 players – more players may be allowed – staff discretion
• Each team should designate a “recorder” to write down the team's answers. (There will be an envelope with the questions and an answer sheet handed out per round).
• The Emcee will announce the topic of the category at the beginning of each round. Once the category is announced the teams will have two songs to collaborate together and turn in their answers for that round.
• Bring your answer sheet up to the announcer at the end of each round
• After each round there will be a 10 minute break. During this time please feel free to go grab a drink or some food. Make it back before the 10 minutes is up or you will be unable to participate in the next round. Answers from each team will be scored and tallied by the trivia committee during this time. The committee has the final say. Once the break is over the emcee will announce the correct answer to each question before starting the next round.
• The scores will be updated after each round and will be announced after the correct answers are announced.
• After the final round, all final scores will be tallied and prizes awarded to the teams with the 2 highest scores of the evening – we may pay out three places – under staff discretion. In the event of a tie there will be a tie breaker round comprised of 5 questions.

This class is at Lake Arrowhead in Rome, WI. Join Kelly from Blue House Cakery for a fun class where you will get 6 cookies, icing, and all tools needed to complete an adorable set of cookies! This is a beginner level class, no prior experience needed! Kelly will walk you through step by step for each cookie. So grab a friend and join in the fun! Specific design may vary.

Class is intended for adults and children. Those under 18 are required to have an adult with them, and both attendees must have a ticket. Age appropriateness is at your discretion - keeping in mind class is 2 hours of sitting.

Tickets are non-refundable. In the event you can not make it you are welcome to sell or gift your ticket to someone else, just let me know who! Or if you would like, you can still get your cookies as a do it yourself kit for home.

A minimum attendance of 8 students is required for class to occur. In the unlikely event that class needs to be cancelled for low attendance, or other unpredictable circumstances, you will be offered the opportunity to transfer your ticket to another class date.

Cookies and icing are prepared in a home based kitchen that is not subject to inspection. Items may contain or come into contact with common allergens such as nuts, dairy, wheat, eggs, or soy.

Cookie Ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, cream cheese, eggs, salt, vanilla extract

Icing ingredients: powdered sugar, meringue powder, cream of tartar, corn syrup, vanilla extract.

Easter Egg Hunt at Tri Norse Winter Park

Bring your family out to Tri-Norse for breakfast with the Easter bunny and let the kids hunt for eggs along the trail at their leisure!

Breakfast will begin at 9:30am and the menu includes homemade pancakes, scrambled eggs and breakfast sausage. Beverages include choice of milk, orange juice, water or coffee.

The egg hunt will run from 11am-1pm and kids will be able to find a “rainbow of eggs” throughout the park. Like last year, we will have designated sections for each age group to find some eggs. Once you collect one egg of each color, return to the chalet to get a goodie bag and a ticket for a chance to win a BIG Easter basket. The drawing will be at 12:30pm and you must be present to win.

The Easter Egg hunt is FREE for all children.

The cost of the breakfast will be determined based on the amount of sponsorships and donations the club receives prior to the event. Wakely's Winter Feast @ Historic Point Basse

Wakely's Winter Feast will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025.  This sumptuous feast offers donated wild game, cooked and prepared by expert chefs along with two domestic meats for those less adventurous.  Sides include appetizers, vegetables, potatoes, homemade relishes and pickles, sausage stuffing, desert and so much more.  All you can eat!  YUM!  

 

Be sure to stay for the basket raffle and silent auction along with music provided by Don and Ann Pawlak.  You'll want to join us for a few old-time dances as well as enjoy the historic fashion presentation.

Valentine's Day @ Lake Arrowhead

Our team has created the perfect menu with something that everyone is sure to love.

Pinery Road Snowshoe/Hike

Snowshoe and/or hike, depending on the snow conditions, our 3.5 miles of trails or simply join us for hot cider and roasted marshmallows to enjoy a Winter Day's outing!  The schoolhouse will be open as a warming house where there will be a traditional snowshoe construction demonstration.  Trail maps will be available.  The bonfire will be in the upper parking lot with marshmallows for roasting.

21+ DIVISION

Players must be 21 years of age or older on the day the tournament starts. The advanced division will be made up of players with ACHA/club hockey experience and above (juniors/NAHL/USHL, semi-pro, etc.)  The Beginner division will be made up of players with recreational, youth hockey, youth club, high school, and adult beginner hockey experience.

30+ DIVISION

Players must be 30 years of age or older on the day the tournament starts. Trivia @ Lake Arrowhead

Join us for the return of Trivia Nights - select Saturday's at 4:00 pm!

Team registration begins 30 minutes before the start of the event (3:30 pm).

$20 per team (2-8 players)
6 rounds with 10 questions each

Trivia Night Rules and Regulations
• There will be 6 trivia categories/rounds with 10 questions per category.
· Teams will be comprised of 2-8 players – more players may be allowed – staff discretion
• Each team should designate a “recorder” to write down the team's answers. (There will be an envelope with the questions and an answer sheet handed out per round).
• The Emcee will announce the topic of the category at the beginning of each round. Once the category is announced the teams will have two songs to collaborate together and turn in their answers for that round.
• Bring your answer sheet up to the announcer at the end of each round
• After each round there will be a 10 minute break. During this time please feel free to go grab a drink or some food. Make it back before the 10 minutes is up or you will be unable to participate in the next round. Answers from each team will be scored and tallied by the trivia committee during this time. The committee has the final say. Once the break is over the emcee will announce the correct answer to each question before starting the next round.
• The scores will be updated after each round and will be announced after the correct answers are announced.
• After the final round, all final scores will be tallied and prizes awarded to the teams with the 2 highest scores of the evening – we may pay out three places – under staff discretion. In the event of a tie there will be a tie breaker round comprised of 5 questions.
• BE SPECIFIC WITH YOUR ANSWERS – NO HALF POINTS FOR PARTIAL ANSWERS.
***NO cell phones or electronic devices of any kind may be used during the game. If a team is found to be using such a device, that team will be disqualified. There will be a basket on each table to hold your phones during the game.***

Historic Point Basse Ice Harvest

Join us in harvesting ice the old fashioned way.  During the Port Edwards Lions Fisheree, we will be offering an opportunity for you to try your hand at ice harvesting.  Then witness the filling of the ice house on our site.  We use the ice all year for chilling our drinks and making ice cream at events.
